So, my sister studied abroad last year, and some of the friends she made live in Vancouver. She and her East Coast friends are planning a trip--spending part of the time in Seattle, and part of the time in Vancouver. She asked if I might like to come along, and I said well, I have online friends who live in Vancouver!

The plan is to leave the 19th of May, I believe. I'm not sure when we would be coming back, and dates for Seattle vs Vancouver are still up in the air.

Obviously I would love to have a meetup, and I am also concerned about accommodations... I have a friend to stay with in Seattle, but I don't want to impose on my sister's friends in Vancouver (and I think they're in dorms anyway). My decision whether to go or not is partly contingent on finding a place to stay, so does anyone have a couch for me, or perhaps recommendations for a really cheap hostel?

Just to clarify - which Vancouver are you talking about?

Depending on the number of days, it's possible you could crash here, but I won't be much help with getting you places - other than the bus stop. The 4yo has stuff every day, so I have to be here/ back for that. Actually, it would also depend on the days, we may be at a soccer tournament most of that weekend.

Sadly, I'm no good with hotel info. Sad

Oh, the Canada Vancouver! Sorry, I forgot to specify. As far as I know, I don't know anyone who lives in the US Vancouver...

Oh well, I don't think I'm going to go anyway. It's very unlikely at this point, actually, since they've got their plane reservations and changed all the plans multiple times. I'll most likely be visiting my Seattle friend later in the summer.

I live in Portland, which is just across the river from what I think of as Ft Vancouver, to make the difference--about 30 min or less, depending on traffic.
