Tangents!
We're writers. We're naturally good at tangents, otherwise editors wouldn't have anything to do but check spelling and grammar and tell us that they didn't have bazookas back in the war of 1812. I was wondering if Tales of Woe and Intrigue could be changed to Tales of Woe, Intrigue and Tangents. That or a tangents/random forum where we can divert tangents to. I've policed myself from saying too much off-topic stuff, but conversations are what they are. I think it'd be nice to have a place to go talk about the branch-off conversation that has nothing much to do with WebLit (oh, you knit?) but is fun and interesting for our forum members (I'm from California too!) or just darn funny (speaking of puns, here's one that made Char attempt to strangle me!)
Also uh, it'll keep our threads more on-topic. nn;

Just for the record: While I don't consider myself the "leader" of this community, I am the one in charge of the website. If I don't respond to something immediately, don't blame other active members here. If it's about the website, it's on me.
That said: At this writing, WebLit.Us has been up for one week and four days, give or take a few hours. I've been fairly responsive about feature requests in that time. At this point I'm more interested in letting things grow a little more organically. Setting up a bunch of empty sub-forums seems premature, when their topics can be handled in existing, if less granular, forums. I seem to recall that very point being made by someone else in another thread.
I may be doing a horrible job. I don't know. I can only do what I can do, and right now, this is the best I've got. If anyone thinks they can do it better, I very much hope they get out there and do it; I'd love to see a properly-run resource for this community, if this website isn't the one. I'd even offer pointers to free or nearly-free methods of doing so.
I don't think you're doing a horrible job. Quite the contrary, as I've said in the forum and in messages.
Sorry if I've offended people. I've suggested removing the bicker posts: I'll make the first move.
(Oops, I guess I won't. The edit button disappeared.)
Once a message is replied to, the original commenter can neither edit nor delete; it's not my policy, it's how the software works. (This is the comments, not the forum topics; if you are the original poster, you can always edit a topic.)
The reason is that once someone has replied, if you edit your comment, the context of the replies is lost, and if you delete your comment, the other person's comment is deleted along with it, whether that person wants it to be or not. If there are specific posts anyone wants removed, PM me and I'm happy to do so. While the average user can't edit or delete once a reply has been made, as administrator, I can.

I would like to take this opportunity to formally apologize for my part in taking threads off-topic (as I know I've done)!
Also to tell MeiLin she's awesome.
And to start a knitting thread... ::wanders off::

done.
