PDX get together
Hey all,
I just got home from Portland, after a much shorter stay than originally anticipated. But I've noticed from browsing the forum topics that several of us are in (or, in my case, regularly visit) the Portland area.
I will be back out the second week in March. It'd be great to actually meet some fellow travelers face-to-face.
I figure if I ask now, we can all find a day that is free and block it out.
So is anyone interested?
In that vein - are any of us, other than l'il ol' me, in the Finger Lakes/Central/Upstate NY region?
~Lyn, lonely over here on the right coast.
Lyn, I'm on the right coast too! You seem to be about five hours away from me in Philly, but considering DC is between me and the Inventrix, you may be the weblit author closest to me.
Sorry to derail the thread. I am so jealous of all you PDX people!
Well, I'm currently in the Southeast. But I get out to PDX a couple times a year.
DC too. In fact, I'll be up there next week.
I'll start a Meet-ups section, shall I?
Snif... I am jealous of you PDX people too. Is anyone else (other than Shirley) in the trackless snow-laden realm north of the border? Not that far from upstate NY actually... For me it's about a 4-hr drive to the Niagara border.
I have to admit I'm more scared of the border since what happened to Peter Watts.
Meet-ups section, good idea.
If I recall there are several upstate NYers, or maybe I'm thinking of my readers. I think I'm getting a head cold...
Some of us are two-timing it
Upstate NY here. I initiated a small MLM fan meet-up at the Sterling Renaissance Festival last summer. Perhaps we could do a MLM/Weblit crossover meet-up next summer?
And, having finally started posting my story online, I shall hie me off to the introductions thread now to say hello properly.
So what we do is set up right and left-coast meetups at the same time, then join the two together via Skype
I've done Skype-ups with readers.
OT but: have you skyped with readers role-playing characters? Or being yourself and answering questions and so on?
I'm just myself when I Skype with readers.
Ooh, That would be a reason to get me back to the Ren Faire! Wonder where my corset is...
~Lyn, lonely in the Finger Lakes.
Ha!!
At least you people are in the same country!!!
I'm all alone in Belgium, which is obviously a totally wrong country web-fiction wise. nevertheless I did manage to meet Zoe E Whitten recently in Milan, and Anna from Above Ground was supposed to meet us to, but snow got in the way.
I say YAY to a meetup section
Done.

Absolutely. I'm here as is Kip Manley of City of Roses and the Peacock King gals. There may be more of us lurking.
