Guts and Sass launch
Hey all,
I've been hanging around, in general stealing promotion and website tidbits from people who have been doing this longer than I have.
I have finally got my website doing everything I want it to do. I'm going to continue tweaking it as I put up the first three installments before I do an ad launch. I am both excited and terrified. (Keep wondering: Am I out of my mind?)
I was wondering if anyone interested could hop over and give it a look-see to see how it feels and give any suggestions they might have.
You can find it at: metraylor.com.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks for the feedback Gabriel.
I'm going to try a new header. The image hangover was bugging me too. I don't like the title being bigger than the subtitle as much aesthetically, but I can see how it would be clearer.
Could you describe a little more specifically what you mean by the doubling header on the forum and blog pages? I'm looking at them and I'm not sure what you're referring to. I'm going to check it out on another computer.
Thanks again!
Like this:
Both the header ("Blogs") and the title of the post (in this case, "Beginnings") are the same size, using h1 tags. It'd be more pleasing to the eye if the post title were smaller, easily done by making it h2.
Hmm. I don't see a way to change that through the admin interface, but I'll check out the style sheet.

My first thought is that your header image is too large. The fact that it juts out over the left margin of the rest of your design makes it look funky. I'm guessing the layout is probably around 960 pixels wide, while your header image is about 1060-ish.
I'd also suggest switching the sizes of the title and subtitle within that header image. If Guts and Sass is the title of the work, then that should be more prominent than the subtitle (which I'm assuming is, what, the first book/act/section?)
I'd probably also use a more descriptive title for the site (by title, I mean the bit that shows up in the tabs of my browser, not the story's title).
On your About and Blog pages, you have this weird doubling header thing going on. Not sure what's causing that. Your About page could also use some padding on that image to keep it from running into the text.
